"A small act of giving can change a child's life." CeSA runs on the generosity of people who believe every child deserves a chance — from Uganda, from Japan, or as a business partner.
At CeSA, roughly $4 can support a child for a full day — covering food, care, and learning.
30 children. Four teachers. One small team doing everything.
CeSA is a full boarding centre 30 minutes from Kampala, caring for and educating children with developmental disabilities, including Down syndrome. Every class, therapy session, and meal is run by four young teachers, a principal, and a supervisor.
Right now, we're stretched thin in ways that show up every day. We can't always afford to give the children fruit with their meals. Our prepaid electricity credit sometimes runs out before we're able to top it up again. Blackboards, chairs, and desks are old — in places, no longer safe. And pens, pencils, toys, and basic educational tools are in short supply across the Centre.
None of this is because the need isn't there — it's simply a matter of resources.

Send directly to CeSA's Uganda bank account.
Fast and simple, no bank account needed on your side.
MTN recipient name is being confirmed and will be added here soon.
Got spare desks, chairs, stationery, or teaching materials? Physical donations are just as valuable as cash, and often easier to give — get in touch and we'll arrange collection or drop-off, wherever you are.

Full boarding care. Special education. Therapy. Vocational training.
CeSA (Centre For Special Abilities) supports children with developmental disabilities, including Down syndrome, through all of this — every day, here in Nansana, Uganda.
With the right support, children learn to communicate, gain independence, and grow into confident individuals — one child, one family, at a time.
This is what it means to "Dare to be true."

Special education and therapy tailored to each child's needs
Repairing and replacing broken furniture like desks and chairs
Basic learning supplies — pens, exercise books, and therapy materials
Full boarding care and nutritious daily meals for 30 children
A more inclusive environment where every child is valued
To keep our doors open and care consistent, here's what one month actually costs:

We rarely collect full school fees. Children who have lost both parents pay nothing at all, and many of the families who do pay can only manage part of the fee, depending on their own circumstances. In practice, that brings in about $990 (UGX 3,650,000) a month, leaving a gap of roughly $2,362 (UGX 8,720,000) — the reason fruit, reliable electricity, safe furniture, and enough pens, pencils, and learning materials are still out of reach some months.
Figures are drawn from CeSA's internal monthly budget (converted from Ugandan Shillings at approximately 3,690 UGX/USD) and will be updated as costs change.
Beyond the day-to-day, we're working toward three things: replacing broken chairs and desks, restocking basic supplies, and expanding our classroom space as the Centre grows.
Our bigger dream, further down the road, is to stop renting altogether and own our own land — a permanent home for CeSA that doesn't depend on a landlord, so we can build for the future instead of just getting by.
Exact costs are still being worked out — get in touch if you'd like to help with one directly.

And for their families, it means one less thing to worry about. If you feel moved to give, you're always welcome — even the smallest contribution makes a real difference.
