Blocked Culverts, Flooded Streets — Our Director Steps In

After heavy rain, the drainage culverts near our community in Nansana became completely blocked with mud, plant debris and rubbish washed down by the floodwater, leaving the road and surrounding area flooded.

Rather than wait for someone else to deal with it, CeSA's Director went out personally and got into the water to help clear the blockage by hand, working the debris free so the water could drain away again.

It's a small example of something we believe in at CeSA: caring for the community doesn't stop at our own gate. When a problem affects the families around us, we show up and help solve it.

New Therapy Mats for the Classroom — Thank You, Kake!

On July 16, 2026, Kake — a Japanese volunteer teacher who joined CeSA through NICE JAPAN and UPA — donated a set of therapy mats for one of our classes.

Until now, children were sitting on thin, torn plastic mats laid straight over the hard floor — not very comfortable, and hard to keep clean. The new mats are soft and cushioned, with a wipeable cover, so the classroom can be cleaned quickly whenever it gets dirty and stays hygienic day to day.

The difference has been immediate: the children are more comfortable and active during class, and teachers no longer have to worry as much about back strain from sitting on the hard floor with them.

Thank you so much, Kake, for this thoughtful gift — it's already making a real difference in the classroom every day!
