"Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them."
At CeSA, we believe that every child — regardless of their abilities — deserves the chance to grow, learn and live with dignity. Too many children with disabilities in Uganda are left behind: overlooked in schools, underserved by the health system, and invisible in the communities that should be supporting them.
That belief is what led us to start this centre in 2015. It wasn't easy. But every day we see children arriving hesitant and leaving with confidence, and that is enough to keep going.
To the families who trust us with their children — thank you. To everyone who has supported us from near and far — your kindness reaches these children directly. And to the children themselves: you are the reason we dare to be true.
Centre For Special Abilities was established in January 2015 as a Community Based Organization in Nansana, Uganda. The founding mission: to rehabilitate children with disabilities aged 2 and above, giving them the practical skills and support to live independently.
After years of informal operation and growing community impact, CeSA was officially registered in September 2018 under CBO No. WCBO/18/1102 in Wakiso District. This formalisation opened doors to broader partnerships and funding.
CeSA now runs classes from Nursery through Senior Four, offers occupational, speech and physiotherapy, and provides vocational training. Our staff, facilities and reach continue to grow — because the need in the Nansana community continues to grow too.
Visits are always welcome. Whether you're a prospective family, a researcher, a potential donor, or just curious — we'd love to show you around.
